Despite 2G conditions, 72 visitors have already been infected with Corona at a party in Münster. More infections are likely, says the city administration. Violations on the part of the club operator or the vaccination certificates have not yet been found.

The number of known corona infections among the visitors to the "2G" club party in Münster has risen to 72. 55 of them came from Münster, the remaining people lived in the extended region, the city announced. "An employee of the club is also infected," it said.

A total of around 380 people took part in the party night on September 3. The 2G rule applied to access, i.e. only those who had been vaccinated or recovered were allowed in. "Further infections are likely, as there are still occasional reports of infections related to the club event." Those affected became aware of the infection because of mild symptoms or through a message from their Corona warning app on their smartphones. The vaccination protects against a serious illness, but an infection and further transmissions cannot be ruled out, stressed crisis team leader Wolfgang Heuer last week.

The health department requested proof of vaccination from the infected people from Münster. So far, no violations of the vaccination records have been found, reported the city. According to the current state of knowledge, the club has also otherwise adhered to the legal framework and official requirements.

After the outbreak became known, the city of Münster praised the club's hygiene concept as exemplary: Not only had the club only granted access to immunized people, the ventilation systems also exceeded the requirements, according to the maintenance company. The health department recommended that all guests of the party have a citizens test carried out. In the event of symptoms, party guests should contact a family doctor.
