'Εχει κάτι το πολύ εικαστικό αυτό το βίντεο, αλλά ταυτόχρονα γυρνάει γύρω από έναν άνθρωπο και την έκφρασή του, είναι απλό. Την εποχή που βγήκε ξεχώριζε από άλλα της εποχής του. Ήταν ένα peak που δεν φαινόταν τότε ότι ήταν peak. Η καλή μουσική με την καλή παραγωγή σε βίντεο (ξοδεύονταν λεφτά) ήταν κάτι συνηθισμένο για την εποχή. Μετά ήρθε η Eurodance, οι αμερικανιές, ολίγη καλή ποπ... Αλλά είχε κάτι εκείνη η εποχή ακριβώς. Κιθάρες κιθάρες...

Άσχετο, η φωνή του είναι ίδια σχεδόν, αλλά και τότε ήταν κάπως ώριμη.

Κοίτα όμως τώρα ένα παράξενο. Από πάντα τα τραγούδια του ήταν μια μουρμούρα για το γκρίζο της Βρετανίας αλλά αυτό που έγινε στην πορεία η Βρετανία του φαίνεται χειρότερο ακόμα...

Όταν άκουγα το hype του Τύπου δεν πίστευα λέξη, οι γνωστές υπερβολές των Άγγλων σκέφτηκα, ένα βιντεάκι τους στο Μουσικόραμα το είχα προλάβει στο τέλος (πιθανώς το Γουίλλιαμ) και συνέχισα να αγνοώ το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ ως αντιδραστικός που είμαι. Και κάπου εκεί πετάνε το How Soon Is Now και μεταστρέφομαι σαν τον Σαύλο !
Αποκάλυψις, ένιωσα τυχερός όπως αυτοί που πρόλαβαν στις μέρες τους τον Έλβις, τους Μπήτλς, τους Πίστολς και όλους τους μεγάλους μουσικούς προφήτες. (Κάτι ανάλογο ένιωσα όταν οι Stone Roses κυκλοφόρησαν το Fool's Gold ...)

Morrissey's music is characterised by his baritone voice and distinctive lyrical content featuring recurring themes of emotional isolation and sexual longing, self-deprecating and black humour, and anti-establishment stances.

He has courted controversy since early on in his music career with his forthright opinions—endorsing vegetarianism and animal rights, criticising royalty and prominent politicians, and defending a particular vision of English national identity.

His parents—Elizabeth (née Dwyer) and Peter Morrissey—were working-class Irish Catholics.




Morrissey's first solo performance took place at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall in December 1988.The event attracted huge crowds, with NME journalist James Brown observing that "the excitement and atmosphere inside the hall was like nothing I have ever experienced at any public event".




Simon Goddard described Morrissey as being "pro-working class, anti-elite and anti-institution. That includes all political parties, parliament itself, all public schools, Oxbridge, the Catholic church, the monarchy, the EU, the BBC, the broadsheet press and the music press. Because his comments are not consistent with any one political agenda it confuses people, especially on the left. If anything, he's a professional refusenik
