I played in Greece twice with The Sex Pistols. The first time audience rioted and set fire to the stage before we ever got to the venue. The second time, we were to play at a football stadium and fans of the opposition team turned up and tried to create a riot. Places like Macedonia, outside of the big cities like Athens, are absolutely fantastic. It’s an odd place, Greece. I’ve never really got to understand it.
