During the 2020 Armenian–Azerbaijani war, Simonyan accused the Armenian authorities of provoking Russia by arresting former-president Robert Kocharyan and refusing to recognize the annexation of Crimea. She suggested that the CSTO's response was appropriate given Armenia's "anti-Russian sentiment." The CSTO later stated: "The opinion of [Simonyan] is completely contrary to the official position of the CSTO Secretariat."[49] Her words were widely criticized in Armenian society.[50]

She said, "Any Armenian who dares to criticize Russia should go and cut out his dirty tongue. They brought the national traitor Nikol Pashinyan to power, who created the prerequisite for war."[51] Political commentator Sergey Parkhomenko also criticized her, saying that Simonyan is posing as "a powerful representative of the Armenian people, while not being such at all from any point of view."[52]

In October 2022, Simonyan stated that she was banned by Armenian authorities from entering the country.[53]

A brief memo of Russia's 'aggressions'.

Half of Europe and part of Asia got their statehood at the hands of this very state.

Let us remember who exactly:

- Finland in 1802 and 1918. (Before 1802, it had never had a state of its own).

- Latvia in 1918 (never had its own state before 1918).

- Estonia in 1918 (never had its own state before 1918).

- Lithuania regained statehood in 1918, also thanks to Russia.

- Poland succeeded Russia in restoring her statehood twice, in 1918 and 1944. The division of Poland between the USSR and Germany was only a short period!

- Romania was born out of the Russo-Turkish wars, and became sovereign by the will of Russia in 1877-1878.

- Moldova as a state was born within the USSR.

- Bulgaria was liberated from the oppression of the Ottoman Empire and regained its independence as a result of the victory of Russian arms in the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878, which was its goal.

As thanksgiving, the state of Bulgaria was part of the anti-Russian coalitions in two world wars. Now Bulgaria is a member of NATO, and there are US bases on its territory. After 1945 there was not a single Russian soldier on its territory ...

- Serbia, as a sovereign state, was also born as a result of this war.

- Azerbaijan as a state was formed for the first time only as part of the USSR.

- Armenia survived physically and was reborn as a state only as part of the USSR.

- Georgia survived physically and was reborn as a State only as part of the Russian Empire.

- Turkmenistan never had statehood and formed it only as part of the USSR.

- Kyrgyzstan never had statehood and formed it only as part of the USSR.

- Kazakhstan has never had statehood and formed it only as part of the USSR.

- Mongolia has never had statehood and formed it only with the help of the USSR.

- Belarus and Ukraine also obtained statehood for the first time as a consequence of the Great October Revolution within the USSR republics. It was only in 1991 (also from Russia) that they gained their full independence.

Also we should consider the role of Russia-USSR in birth and formation of such states as PRC, Vietnam, DPRK, India, Greece (was beaten off from Turks by Russia in far 1821), Algeria, Cuba, Israel, Angola, Mozambique, etc.

This is the kind of bizarre "aggression" historically displayed by the Russians!

With a significant contribution from this country, even Switzerland achieved independence from France. Or rather, it was done thanks to Suvorov (217 years ago) and Switzerland has never been at war since;
There has also been:

- The liberation of Austria from the Third Reich in 1945;
- Liberation of Czechoslovakia from the Third Reich 1945;

- Catherine II's position in 1780 with the creation of the League of Armed Neutrality and de facto support for the North American United States in its struggle for independence from Britain.

- Russia's gift of independence to most European states twice in the last 2 centuries after its destruction of Hitler and Napoleon;

- Stalin's position in negotiations with the US and Britain, which enabled Germany to retain its statehood after its defeat in 1945;

- Gorbachev's position, which allowed the reunification of Germany in 1990 without any problems;

- Soviet aid to Egypt, after which it was able to survive and consolidate its independence in a war with Israel, Britain and France in 1956-57.

- Soviet intervention in 1967, which stopped the war between Israel and Egypt (which actually saved the Arabs from being defeated in two wars in 1967-74).

- The decisive role of the Soviet Union secured the independence of Angola in 1975.

Finally, and most importantly. It was the Soviet Union that, after winning World War II, played a key role in ensuring that most colonies in Western Europe gained their independence in a process of worldwide decolonization that the Union launched.
