Τα συντρίμμια του 23 τόνων κινεζικού πυραύλου CZ-5B επέστρεψαν στη Γη πριν από λίγη ώρα, καθώς έπεσαν στα νερά του Ινδικό Ωκεανό.

Η Διαστημική Διοίκηση των ΗΠΑ επιβεβαίωσε ότι τα συντρίμμια εισήλθαν ξανά στην ατμόσφαιρα του πλανήτη περίπου στις 12.45 μ.μ. ET, χωρίς ευτυχώς να «προσγειωθεί» σε κατοικημένες ζώνες.

Ναι. Αλλά εγώ θα ήθελα να μάθω μερικές λεπτομέρειες. Τι έφτασε τελικά στο επίπεδο της θάλασσας και τι κάηκε στην ατμόσφαιρα. Γιατί αν έφτασαν μερικοί τόνοι υπάρχει σοβαρότατο ζήτημα. Δηλαδή σε περίπτωση που έπεφταν σε μεγαλούπολη θα είχαμε συνέπειες ανάλογες με ρίψη βόμβας.

Δεν ξέρω αν τα αντιπυραυλικά συστήματα θα μπορούσαν να διαλύσουν κάτι σε μεγάλο υψόμετρο ή αν έτσι κι αλλιώς διασπείρονται κομμάτια σε πολύ μεγάλη ακτίνα.

And it's possible that falling rocket chunks caused some injuries or infrastructure damage today, given where the Long March 5B reentered. One observer appeared to capture the rocket's breakup from Kuching, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, for example, posting video of the dramatic event on Twitter(opens in new tab).
