Και όλως τυχαίως έπεσα σ' αυτό το βίντεο στο Youtube που είναι μέντλευ. Ομολογώ δεν ήξερα κανένα από τα δύο τραγούδια. Και τα δύο αναφέρονται στη Μεγάλη Ύφεση στις ΗΠΑ. Το τραγούδι από το φιλαράκι μου τον Bruce Springsteen είναι επηρεασμένο από τα ''Σταφύλια της Οργής'' του Στάινμπεκ και λέγεται ''The ghost of Tom Joad'' . Το τραγουδάει το country group Mumford and sons. Υπάρχει και η παμπάλαια ταινία με τον Χένρυ Φόντα, την συνιστώ σε όποιον δεν την είδε. Έχει πολύ ενδιαφέρον να δείτε τι έγινε τότε (καινούργια μηχανήματα για καλλιέργεια και αφανισμό των μικροκαλιεργητών ), πράγμα που θα γίνει κι εδώ αλλά αυτό είναι άλλο θέμα.

Το άλλο τραγούδι λέγεται ''Do Re Mi'' kai είναι από τον τεράστιο μουσικό Woody Guthrie. Ο Bob Dylan έχει δηλώσει ότι έχει επηρεαστεί από αυτόν.Το τραγουδάει το φιλαράκι μου ο Elvis Costello. Το Dust Bowl ήταν αμμοθύελλες που υπήρχαν στην Καλιφόρνια. Δεν τους έφτανε η ύφεση, είχαν κι αυτό.

Αν θυμάμαι καλά, επειδή γράφω από μνήμης, τον Σακαφλιά ή Σακαβλιά, νταβατζή της εποχής που εκρατείτο στη φυλακή Τρικάλων, σκότωσε ένας κωλομπαράς ο Αντωνίτσης, επειδή δεν του καθότανε το ομορφόπαιδο. Τον παρέσυρε στο κελλί του δήθεν για συμφιλίωση, και με την ακονισμένη λαβή του τηγανιού που θα του τηγάνιζε μαρίδες, τον κάρφωσε. Woman - John Lennon


Ο Lennon έγραψε το τραγούδι αυτό σαν έναν ύμνο στη γυναίκα του Yoko Ono αλλά και σε όλες τις γυναίκες του κόσμου. Το θεωρούσε σαν μία 80ς εκδοχή του τραγουδιού των Beatles, “Girl”, από το άλμπουμ “Rubber Soul”. Είναι όμως και μία απολογία προς την Yoko μια και το ζευγάρι, το 1973, επειδή περνούσαν προβλήματα στη σχέση τους, αποφάσισαν να κάνουν ένα διάλειμμα. Ο John τα έφτιαξε με τη βοηθό του May Pang, μία φθοροποιό σχέση που διήρκεσε 18 μήνες και την οποία ο ίδιος αποκαλούσε «χαμένο σαββατοκύριακο».
Το “Woman” κυκλοφόρησε σαν σινγκλ τον Ιανουάριο του 1981, περίπου ένα μήνα μετά τη δολοφονία του Lennon.

Ο στρατός της Κολομβίας προετοίμαζε επιχειρήσεις απελευθέρωσης αιχμαλώτων της παραστρατιωτικής οργάνωσης FARC. Επειδή η FARC συνήθιζε σε κάθε επίθεση εναντίον της να σκοτώνει πρώτα τους αιχμαλώτους, ο στρατός ήθελε να τους περάσει ένα μήνυμα ότι έρχεται βοήθεια ώστε να είναι έτοιμοι να αποδράσουν και για να αναπτερώσει το ηθικό τους. Μιας και οι στρατιώτες μάθαιναν μορς στην βασική εκπαίδευση, που τα μέλη της FARC δεν γνώριζαν, έγραψαν αυτό το τραγούδι που περιέχει σε κώδικα το μήνυμα "19 άνθρωποι απελευθερώθηκαν, είσαι ο επόμενος, μην απελπίζεσαι". Το τραγούδι έπαιζε συνέχεια σε σταθμούς που έπιαναν στις ζούγκλες οπου είχε τις βάσεις της η FARC και το μήνυμα πέρασε στους στρατιώτες.

Το τραγούδι αυτό κρύβει μία πολύ θλιβερή ιστορία για τον Eric Clpapton μιας και αναφέρεται στον 4χρονο γιο του που έπεσε από το παράθυρο του ουρανοξύστη όπου έμεναν και σκοτώθηκε.

Το 1983 είχε ξηρασία στην Αιθιοπία. Ο κόσμος κυριολεκτικά πέθαινε από ασιτία. Οι εικόνες που έδειχναν τα τηλεοπτικά κανάλια σκληρές. Δεν ήταν βέβαια πρώτη είδηση η ανθρωπιστική κρίση στην χώρα αυτή της Αφρικής. Ο ψυχρός πόλεμος ήταν στο αποκορύφωμα του και οι προηγμένες χώρες είχαν πιο ''σοβαρά'' θέματα φαίνεται να ασχοληθούν. Το ίδιο αδιαφόρησε και ο ΟΗΕ.

Ένας punk/new wave rocker ο Bob Geldof τραγουδιστής των Boomtown Rats, δεν έμεινε με σταυρωμένα χέρια. Του ήρθε η ιδέα να κάνει ένα charity band και να μαζέψει λεφτά για τους ανθρώπους αυτούς. Να μην τα πολυλογώ, στο κάλεσμα του ανταποκρίθηκαν πολλοί γνωστοί τραγουδιστές. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν να ''ξεβράκωσει'' τον ΟΗΕ και τις ''πολιτισμένες'' χώρες.

Κυριολεκτικά συγκλόνισε την κοινή γνώμη σε όλες τις χώρες, έκανε γνωστό το θέμα και ευαισθητοποίησε τον κόσμο.
Ακόμα και για την διανομή των αγαθών φρόντισε όταν έμαθε ότι τα έκλεβαν οι κυβερνητικοί. Δεν υπάρχουν στοιχεία αλλά πρέπει να έσωσε πάρα πολλούς ανθρώπους.

Φυσικά δεν του έδωσαν ποτέ το νόμπελ Ειρήνης.

Ακολούθησαν και άλλες ανάλογες κινήσεις όπως το Live Aid. Στις ΗΠΑ το USA for Africa.
Στην Ελλάδα έκαναν αγώνα δρόμου και αν θυμάμαι καλά μάζεψαν 20 εκατομμύρια δραχμές, μεγάλο ποσό.

Πολλές κομουνιστικές χώρες πέρασαν λιμούς λίγα χρόνια μετά την ανάληψη της εξουσίας από τους κομουνιστές, ΕΣΣΔ, Κίνα, Β.Κορέα, Αιθιοπία, μπορεί και άλλες αλλά βαριέμαι να ψάξω, και οι καπιταλιστές δυτικοί έτρεχαν να σώσουν τον κόσμο από την πείνα.

Άυτό το τραγούδι με το σπαστικό ''χα, χα χα'' αναφέρεται στην συντριβή ενός αμερικάνικου ελικόπτερου που συμμετείχε στην επιχειρήση απελευθέρωσης των Αμερικανών από την πρεσβεία στην Τεχεράνη. Τους κρατούσαν όμηρους μετά την επικράτηση της θεοκρατικής επανάστασης του Αγιατολάχ Χομεινί. Το τραγούδι είχε μεγάλη επιτυχία.

Το γνωστό τραγούδι Pride/In the name of love των U2 που αναφέρεται στην δολοφονία του Μάρτιν Λούθερ Κινγκ, του αγωνιστή για τα δικαιώματα των μαύρων Αμερικανών.
Υπάρχει όμως ένα λάθος, τον σκότωσαν το απόγευμα της 4 Απριλίου του 1968 και όχι το πρωί. Στις συναυλίες το φιλαράκι μου ο Μπόνο το αλλάζει στο σωστό ''early evening''

So they took him to the infirmary

They took him to the hospital and they brought him upstairs

The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger
And though they could not produce the gun
The D.A. said he was the one who did the deed
And the all-white jury agreed

Rubin Carter was falsely tried
The crime was murder one, guess who testified
Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied
And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride
How can the life of such a man

To see him obviously framed
Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land
