Pictured: Suspect, 50, arrested on suspicion of ‘far-right’ stabbing of teenager

The man arrested over a ‘shocking and worrying’ stabbing in Stanwell on Saturday night has been named as Vincent Fuller. Police are treating the knife attack in Surrey as a terror-related incident after the suspect allegedly screamed ‘kill all Muslims’ before attacking a 19-year-old boy. Fuller, 50, was pictured for the first time as he was held in custody on suspicion of attempted murder and racially aggravated public order.




Locals said they heard someone shouting ‘white supremacy rules’ before the attack. The Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) unit is leading the investigation after it was declared a terrorist incident on Sunday and believe it was inspired by the far-right. Surrey Police were called out on Saturday to reports of a man ‘acting aggressively and shouting racist comments’ whilst carrying a baseball bat and a knife. Witnesses claimed that a man dressed in green and wearing a balaclava had started attacking cars with a knife at around 10.30pm. Mariam Parker-Reed, who alerted the police, said: ‘I heard a man on Saturday evening shouting “kill all Muslims” and “white supremacy rules”. ‘That’s what made me call the police.’

Just after 11pm it was reported that someone had been stabbed in a Tesco car park in Town Lane, Stanwell. The victim was sent home from hospital earlier today after undergoing an operation on Sunday night, having sustained serious injuries to his hands. Police today said the victim was from southern Europe and that they believed his ethnicity was a motivation for the attack. According to witnesses, a man walked into the car park and started shouting abuse, before approaching the victim in his car to slash his neck and hands. Detectives believe the severely injured victim went into McDonalds to seek help and was then rushed to Ashford Hospital. Following the unprovoked attack, police said they have stepped up patrols in Stanwell to provide reassurance to the community – particularly in areas around mosques.

Windows smashed at five mosques in Birmingham
Counter-terrorism officers investigating after series of attacks overnight

Counter-terrorism police are investigating after windows were smashed at five mosques in Birmingham.

West Midlands police were first called at 2.32am to a mosque on Birchfield Road, Perry Barr, where a man was reported to be breaking windows with a sledgehammer. Officers arrived to find that the incident had happened some time earlier.

They were next alerted at 3.14am to activity at another mosque, in Slade Road, Erdington. Following confirmation of that incident, a decision was taken to check on other mosques, and similar damage was found at buildings in Witton Road, Aston, and nearby on The Broadway.

On Thursday morning, police discovered that a mosque on Albert Road had also had its windows smashed, and they are treating this attack as linked to the earlier incidents.

The home secretary, Sajid Javid, said the incidents were “deeply concerning and distressing”. He tweeted: “@WMPolice are investigating motive but let me be clear – hateful behaviour has absolutely no place in our society and will never be accepted.”
