επειδή βλέπω ότι υπάρχει ενδιαφέρον, ας βάλουμε μερικά αποσπάσματα απο το ημερολόγιο του Φράνζ

Parrot
Year 1574

5. A thief hanged.

6. do.

7. Kloss Renckhart of Feylsdorf, a murderer, who committed three murders with an associate.
First he shot dead his companion, secondly a miller’s man who helped him to attack and plunder a
mill by night. The third case was again at a mill, called the Fox Mill, on the mountains, which he
attacked at night with a companion.

They shot the miller dead, did violence to the miller’s wife and
the maid, obliged them to fry some eggs in fat and laid these on the dead miller’s body, then forced
the miller’s wife to join in eating them. He kicked the miller’s body and said: “Miller, how do you
like this morsel?” He also plundered the mill. For these things he was executed on the wheel at
Graytz.

Total: 3 persons.

...

9. Wastel Pennas, of Leuchtenberg, a butcher and thief, who also sold dog’s flesh as mutton,
hanged at Rotkirch.
:o:-? σκληρό. Απ'ότι φαίνεται, εκτέλεσε κάποιο Γερμανό πρόγονο του OANNHSEA

50. August 16th. Margaret Böckin, a citizen of Nuremberg, who murdered another woman,
also a citizen, called ‘the Treasurer’s wife.’ When asked to look for lice, she struck her on the head
from behind with a chopper.
Led out to execution on a tumbril, her body nipped thrice with red-hot
tongs, then beheaded with the sword, standing; her head fixed on a pole above and her body buried
under the gallows.

82. Anna Peyelstainin of Nuremberg, alias Moser Annala, because she had carnal intercourse
with a father and a son, called ‘die Doppengiesser’ (who themselves both had wives, she having a
husband), and similarly with twenty-one married men and youths, her husband conniving; was
beheaded here with the sword, standing.

Her husband, called Jerome Peyelstain, was whipped out of
the town. He wrote these lines on the wall of St. Peter’s Church, near her grave: ‘Father and son
should have been treated as she was, and the panders also. In the other world I shall summon
Emperor and King because justice has not been done. I, poor man, suffer though innocent. Farewell
and good night.’

152. October 11th. Gabriel Wolff, of a burgher’s family here, who called himself George
Windholz, Secretary to the Elector at Berlin, also took the name of Ernst Haller and Joachim
Fürnberger, borrowed 1,500 ducats from a councillor here in Nuremberg by means of a forged letter
in the Elector’s name and under the seal of the Margrave John George in Berlin; was arrested at
Regensburg and delivered over to Nuremberg. Besides this he practised many such forgeries; for
instance he demanded 2,000 dollars of a councillor at Danzig in the King of Sweden’s name, but
when the fraud was discovered received nothing. (A list of similar frauds and forgeries follows.)

He
absconded with 1,400 crowns in the Netherlands and travelled to Turkey. When in Constantinople, on
the death of Jacob Führer, he took the latter’s signet ring, books, and clothes, with a few dollars; the
clothes were taken from him at sea, but he kept the ring. In Italy he tried to abduct an abbess, but
failed; he took, however, a silver gilt striking clock from her sister. On another occasion he took a
silver clock from a Knight of St. John called Master George, as well as a horse, and rode away. In
Prague, where he was the Emperor’s personal attendant, being charged with pawning a lady’s silver
goblets and girdle for 12 florins, he stole (them) and sold them for 40 florins; also practised many
other frauds, causing false seals of gentlemen to be cut, wrote many forged documents and was
conversant with seven languages; carrying on this for twenty-four years. Beheaded with the sword
here at Nuremberg, the body being afterwards burnt. Should have had his right hand cut off first, this
being decided and ordered, but was subsequently spared this.

158. August 13th. Christopher Mayer, a weaver of fustian, and Hans Weber, a fruiterer, both
citizens of this town, who for three years had practised sodomy together and were informed against
by a hook-maker’s apprentice, who caught them in the act behind a hedge. The fruiterer had practised
this for twenty years, that is with the cook Endressen, with Alexander, and others. The weaver was
first beheaded, then his body was burnt with the fruiterer, who was burnt alive.

white collar criminal
237. December 23rd (a Monday). Master Doctor Nicholas von Gilgen, who was by
appointment a privy councillor in an honourable council and was bound to that council by oaths he
did not observe; for the sake of money received wrote for and advised two (opposite) parties in many
affairs; also gave evidence and sat in council for deliberations and decisions; also stole from my
lords of this town the allowances for beer and wine, causing it to be stored by his servants. Also he
debauched before her marriage, forcing her to do his will, his servant whom he brought from Trier to
this town, and whom he gave as a wife to his clerk Philip Tumbler, by a promise of 50 florins and
large presents. According to her declaration she brought forth five children by him, three of which
miscarried during delivery or by fright in the twelfth week, two remaining alive, a boy and girl, he
being sponsor to the boy at baptism. Similarly, by like promises, he forced his under-maid to consent
to his will a year ago, and tried likewise to persuade his brother’s two daughters; one, the wife of
Doctor Wurffbaum, he tried to compel, but she resisted, the other the wife of Doctor Calrot, who
yielded to his will and consorted with him before and after her marriage, according to her account
through fear and compulsion and the promise of many presents and a wedding portion (he did not
admit he compelled her, and I do not believe he forced her).

Lastly he played false when serving the Prince of Sultzbach, whose advocate he was; he also
mediated dishonestly between the families of Nuremberg, and between the noble families of
Leschwitz and Redwitz, writing to, and advising both parties in one affair. Likewise he counselled
the Italian Charles Albert Nello and other Italians against the rulers of our town; also stole the
decrees from the office of an honourable councillor. In Italy too, at Padua, he produced a false
certificate, when he figured as a doctor there by means of a false certificate, for he became a doctor at
Basel only long after. For his evil deeds he lay in prison for thirty-eight weeks in Lugins Land and in
the jail. He was led out on Monday by favour in a long mourning cloak, his arms bound behind him
with a black silk cord, and led by a cord, a black cloth being spread on the seat (on the scaffold).
When he had been beheaded his body was wrapped in the cloth and laid in a wooden coffin, nailed
down and taken to St. Peter’s church by the assistant executioner, but removed at night in a cart to St.
John’s by the little gate that leads to the Butts, and buried in the graveyard by the walls.
